Would we now be arguing that UO is not a MMO because it does not have classes and levels? I think it is a distinct possibility. |

I don't see why anyone would. MMO isn't some ambiguous term which can be misunderstood, it just means massive world of concurrent online players. I never understood the need to argue semantics, although I don't consider Guild Wars, Diablo, The Agency, APB to be MMO, they're clearly not.

FYI, Arenanet always considered GW to be a CORPG, not a MMORPG.
Thanks. |

Massively Multiplayer Online.....What does that have to do with classes and/or levels?

If EverQuest had come first, I know I would have tried the genre and immediately quit thinking this is how it would always be. Thankfully UO was frist and I knew that there was hope for something that was actually entertaining and not a job. I'm still waiting, but still hoping. |

People will argue with other people over anything. Doesn't mean either group of people actually has a clue what they're talking about. |

Highlight on "frightening". And on the other hand, had EQ not been made so early in the technological development of 3D gaming, would things be different as far as "worldly"? Once upon a time.... |
